A ‘Triumphant night for unsung heroes of the community’.
That’s how the Kent & Sussex Courier newspaper described the recent Heart of the Community awards hosted at AXA PPP’s ‘International House’ office in Tunbridge Wells
Now in its eight year, Heart of the Community seeks to recognise and reward community, educational and environmental initiatives in the West Kent area in need of a financial boost.
Winning groups benefiting from a share of a £10,000 prize fund included a pre-school needing funding for an outside learning space, a group for disabled adults and children requiring specialist equipment and a retirement association in need of a furniture upgrade.
AXA PPP people and membership director, Sonia Wolsey Cooper, said:
“I don’t think there is a more noble way of spending your time than to make things better for people.”
